Welcome to the Workshops guidelines page for ASPiH 2025! This page provides all the necessary information to help you prepare and submit your workshop abstract. Workshops should be interactive and engaging, providing participants with valuable learning experiences.
The deadline for submitting Workshop abstracts is Sunday 27th April 2025. Once your proposal is complete, you can submit it via the button below. Be sure to review the guidelines thoroughly to ensure your submission meets all the criteria. Failure to observe these guidelines may result in disqualification.
Before submitting your abstract, please take the time to review the resources that have been created to help you write an impactful abstract!
We invite abstract submissions on the
following topics. If your abstract aligns with multiple topics, please choose
the one that best represents your work. Selecting the most suitable topic will
help ensure your submission is placed in the most appropriate session for a successful
presentation.
EDUCATION | Includes, but is not limited to: needs assessment, curriculum/program/course/scenario development, concepts/terminology, evaluation, briefing, debriefing/feedback, faculty development, co-production, simulated people/patients, technical skills, communication/teamwork skills, IPE, human factors, psychological safety, EDI, and cultural diversity. |
TRANSFORMATION | Includes but is not limited to: quality improvement initiatives, system-based interventions, innovations, identifications (e.g latent safety threats), involving stakeholders to transform, influencing change, and including patients and publics to understand and inform. TECHNOVATION | Covers all aspects of using technical innovation to enhance simulation-based activities. Includes but is not limited to: technological developments, moulage, maintenance and sustainability, virtual and mixed reality environments, gamification, A/V, remote simulation, telehealth, and social media. |
Workshop abstracts should focus on crafting interactive and dynamic sessions that engage participants in a hands-on learning experience. These sessions are designed to foster active participation, where learners can directly apply new skills or knowledge in real-time. The workshop duration will either be 90 minutes or 45 minutes, depending on the depth of the proposal and available scheduling. Proposals should emphasise innovation in teaching strategies and promote a high level of interactivity to enhance learning outcomes.
Workshop proposals must outline interactive and immersive learning experiences that encourage participant engagement throughout the session. Proposals should highlight how participants will be involved in the learning process and how the session will be structured to meet specific educational objectives. Sessions will be allotted either 90 minutes or 45 minutes, depending on the overall quality and design of the abstract. It's crucial that the abstract clearly defines the session’s goals and follows the structure outlined below to ensure clarity and focus.
* Please note that equipment requests will be fulfilled, if possible. A confirmation will be sent if the requested equipment is available. Facilitators/moderators should make their own arrangements for their proposed activities (e.g. handouts).
