Abstract FAQs

How do I submit an abstract?

Abstracts are submitted via the ASPiH abstract submission portal. Any abstracts sent via mail or email will not be accepted.

What is the deadline for abstract submission?

The deadline to submit abstracts for the ASPiH Conference 2026 is:

Tuesday 28 April 2026 at 23:59 (UK time)


Is there a word limit for abstracts?

Yes.

  • The main body of the abstract must not exceed 400 words
  • The title must not exceed 75 words
  • Please do not include the title in the main body of the abstract, as there is a separate section for this
  • References are not included in the abstract word count

Where do I submit my abstract?

For example, using the navigation bar:

On the relevant page, scroll to the bottom where you will find a “Submit" button. This will take you to the ASPiH abstract submission portal.

If you have not previously submitted an abstract via the ASPiH system, you will be prompted to create an account and complete your contact information. Once this is completed, the abstract submission option will become available.

Do I need to be an ASPiH member to submit an abstract? 

No. You do not need to be an ASPiH member to submit an abstract. We welcome submissions from ASPiH members, non‑members, and students.

Can I submit more than one abstract?

Yes. The submission portal allows up to 10 abstract submissions per person.

Can I edit my abstract after I have submitted it? 

No. Once an abstract has been submitted, it cannot be edited.

Can I request an extension to the submission deadline? 

Due to the conference timetable and review process, we are unable to offer extensions to the abstract submission deadline.

What should I do if I experience technical problems with submission?

If you experience technical issues during submission, please:

  • Take screenshots of the error or issue you are experiencing, and
  • Email events@aspih.org.uk as soon as possible.

If this occurs outside of office hours, your enquiry will be picked up when the office reopens.

Do abstracts need to follow a specific structure or template? 

Yes. Each abstract type has a specific template.

When will I be notified of the outcome of my submission? 

Outcomes will be communicated to submitters during the week commencing 27 July 2026.
