What information do I need before I start?

Although you can amend your submission up until the closing date, before submitting an abstract it is useful to have the following information ready:

  • Title (maximum 75 words)
  • Details of author & co-authors
    • Salutations
    • First names
    • Last names
    • Organisations
  • Main body of abstract (maximum 350 words)
    • All abstracts must contain the following headings:
      • Objective: A brief statement of the purpose of the study and the current state of research in the field.
      • Methods: The methods of the study or experimental approach should be clearly defined.
      • Results: A summary of the results, including sufficient details to support the conclusions. These may be presented in a brief table.
      • Conclusions: A statement concerning the significance of the work, and its possible implications for clinical practice and for future research.

Outcomes 

Submitters will be notified of the outcome by email by 17th January 2023

Up to one table, image or figure may be used with the abstract.



Anonymize

Although you will be asked to enter author's details, no reference should be made in the abstract to the names or institutions of the authors.

Terms and conditions

  • If accepted the presenting author must register to attend the conference.
  • Last date for submission is Sunday 15 January 2023.
  • Ideally the submitter should be the presenting author.  If this is not possible the replacement presenter must be a named author on the original submission.
  • As the number of oral and poster presentation slots are limited, the judging panel may suggest an abstract is accepted in the alternative presentation format.
  • All accepted abstracts will be published in the Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
  • The presenting author (as indicated on the submission) will be notified of the decision of the judging panel by 16th January 2023.
