EACH Fellowship

EACH Fellowship 2026 - Closing date 23 June 2026

The Executive Committee of EACH proposes to honour those of its members who make substantial contributions to the EACH mission by offering a Fellowship in EACH. The mission of EACH is to provide an academic and practical professional community to those involved in investigating and improving communication in healthcare. Through EACH, researchers, educators, practitioners and policy makers share their expertise to understand and enhance communication between health care providers, patients, and their families. The fellowship is an honorary title that will be conferred at the ICCH 2026 conference.

 

To be considered for an EACH Fellowship a candidate must have shown a commitment to the Association through:

  • Being a member of EACH for a minimum of six (6) years (does not have to be consecutive years) including the year in which the application is being made.
  • Substantial  “Service to EACH” as demonstrated through active contribution to multiple EACH committees, events, resources and/or activities.  To qualify for the fellowship, the candidate must provide evidence of substantive and active contribution by describing their participation in specific EACH projects and activities that extend beyond standard membership and attendance of relevant EACH committee meetings

Research (Jozien Bensing) Award

The EACH Jozien Bensing Research Award - Closing date 19 June 2026

The Jozien Bensing Research Award is an award for talented early-career researchers awarded biennially at the conferences of the International Conference on Communication in Healthcare (ICCH). The award was first given in 2008.

 

The award is meant for researchers in the first ten years of their research career, for example within ten years of PhD or similar qualification, allowing for career breaks.

 

Consideration will be given to:

  • the number of publications
  • number of publications as first author
  • the period in which articles were published
  • impact factor of the journals

Teaching Award

The EACH Teaching Award - Closing date 19 June 2026

The EACH Teaching Award is an innovative prize for teachers of health care communication awarded biennially at the conferences of the International Conference on Communication in Healthcare (ICCH). The award was first given in 2016.


The award is aimed at teachers of communication in healthcare who have made a significant and outstanding contribution to healthcare communication education.

 

Examples of such contributions could include:

  • making an impact on healthcare communication teaching beyond the candidate’s institution
  • creating an innovation in healthcare communication teaching and learning
  • introducing communication training in a particularly challenging environment
