Abstract Submission

Please note that accepted oral presentations for FIS 2021 will take place at the physical event in Manchester on Friday 5 November.  Poster presentations will be showcased during the Online event on Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 November.  Oral presentations will also be showcased during the Infectious Disease Futures and Infection Science Award on Tuesday 9 November.

The closing date for abstracts is Friday 27 August (23:59 BST).  Please note that this is the final deadline date and there will not be a call for late-breaking abstracts.

Title - maximum 75 words

Oral Presentations
There are a number of free paper oral presentation sessions allocated within the conference programme. If selected for an oral presentation you will be allocated a slot of approximately 8-12 minutes and will present at the Physical event taking place on 5 November in Manchester.

Posters
If selected for a poster presentation you will be required to supply an electronic pdf poster, A0 size in portrait orientation. Posters will be displayed in the poster area of the e-conference site for the duration of the conference.  You will also have the opportunity to supply a short video presentation to accompany your poster, this should be in MP4 format and should be no more than 5 minutes long.  There will be a chat function on your poster page and a notification will be sent to you via email when a comment has been left to allow you to respond.

As a reminder the terms & conditions of submission are:

  • If accepted the presenting author must register to attend the conference.
  • Last date for submission is Friday 27 August 2021 (23:59 BST). 
  • Amendments cannot be made after submission.
  • Ideally the submitter should be the presenting author. If this is not possible the replacement presenter must be a named author on the original submission.
  • If chosen to present a poster or free paper at conference, the presentation will also be posted on the FIS conference website.
  • The presenting author (as indicated on the submission) will be notified of the decision of the judging panel on or around 22 September 2021.
  • The decision of the panel is final.
  • Poster presenters will be asked to provide a PDF and MP4 Video presentation (optional) of their posters at least 2 weeks in advance of conference.
  • The submitter is responsible for obtaining consent to publish the names of authors/co-authors.

Please remember: If accepted for either a poster or oral presentation, the presenting author must register to attend conference on the relevant day (5 November - oral presenters / 8 and 9 November - poster presenters).  Amendments cannot be made to the content of your abstract after submission.
