The Largest Infection Prevention and Control Conference in Europe
Learning from Covid-19 & AMR

For the first time, Europe’s largest Infection Prevention and Control Conference will take place over two days. Over the two days we will look at the latest IPC best practice, which will include elements for community and mental health as well as acute nursing. We will also cover clinical topics such as AMR. In 2020 NHSE/I rolled out their vision of the NHS Long Term Plan for Infection Prevention and Control, with strong themes around AMR and Gram-Negative bloodstream infections. Throughout 2020, and much of 2021, we saw the biggest global pandemic in recent history, COVID19. We will review the lessons learned and re-emphasise the need for effective hand washing and personal hygiene protocols, that quite literally became a life-or-death necessity.

Themes for this national meeting will therefore include amongst others, outbreak management, improving hand hygiene (and auditing procedures), and decontamination/cleaning protocols. From the pandemic we learnt much about preventing airborne transmission of infection. There will still be a strong focus on AMR as well as focusing on GNBSI and the common causes such as UTIs. In this national meeting we will revisit the common themes of infection prevention, review current control standards, and celebrate best practice. Our exhibition will showcase the latest innovation and technology available globally. You will be able to network with over 500 healthcare professionals each day. Delegates will be able to choose to attend either or both days.

We have a limited number of fully funded tickets available for the Public Sector and NHS provider organisations, if you think you may qualify, please contact our delegate team on Delegates@knowlex.co.uk or 0161 696 4868. Please be aware that marketing codes are for limited numbers of places. Our delegate team will contact you after you place your application to let you know if you have been successful. Alternatively, please complete the application form via the website, and include the discount code provided NHS6.

The first-ever Infection Prevention and Control and Healthcare Facilities Management Conference in Scotland.
Improving Services to Reduce Infections

Knowlex and NHS Scotland are collaborating to host IPC/HFM Improving Services to Reduce Infection 2022 – Scotland’s first-ever national-conference to not only address the challenge of reducing HCAIs (Healthcare-Acquired Infection) but also the difficulties facing the facilities management teams in keeping our hospitals open and safe for business.
This CPD-accredited event will bring together policymakers, leaders, and key-professionals from all elements of the Scottish healthcare structure.
Scotland has led the UK in terms of best practice for many years and, is now entering a period of massive reform, change and growth. As new public-bodies such as Assure and the National Care Service find their feet and take shape, it is critical that the teams that keep us infection-free whilst receiving treatment, are at the cutting edge of the process.
Understandably, efforts have been latterly focused on response to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, there is still an urgent requirement to drive down long-standing HCAIs (C-Diff, MRSA, Gram-Negative Bloodstream infections etc); and a growing need to reflect on the global threat of AMR (Antimicrobial Resistance) and how we can deliver better antibiotic stewardship.
This new conference will highlight that is not just Infection Prevention Teams that tackle HCAIs. ‘Soft FM’ teams are often the unsung heroes that allow hospitals to provide hands-on clinical treatment.
Cleaning, hygiene, portering, waste-management and foodservice professionals are the heartbeat of a healthcare facility, and now is the right time to increase recognition of their contribution and improve their skillsets in supporting the fight against HCAIs.

We have a limited number of fully funded tickets available for the Public Sector and NHS provider organisations, if you think you may qualify, please contact our delegate team on Delegates@knowlex.co.uk or 0161 696 4868. Care Homes 2022 Beyond Covid Conference and Exhibition
The Strategy and Skills Pathway to IPC Excellence

Day-in, day-out, responsibility for the health and well-being protection of many of the most vulnerable elderly members of UK society is entrusted to 5,500 different provider-organisations across the UK’s £16bn care-homes sector,  operating 11,000-plus care homes, with more than 400,000 residents.

Historically, residential care settings have always presented significant challenges to those in charge of establishing and implementing appropriate protocols and good-practice in on-site cleanliness, hygiene-management and infection prevention-and-control (given their age group, care home residents are at significant risk of contracting the likes of rotavirus, norovirus, MRSA, ESBL, MRGN and C-Diff infections).
Then came Covid-19.

By autumn 2020, Public Health England (now the UK Health Security Agency) reported that more than 43,000 plus care home residents had tested positive for Coronavirus. Throughout 2021 and moving into 2022, care homes continued to face an unprecedented set of logistical, legal, and operational challenges to the safe and successful management of their businesses.

Only now, as we move into the so-called ‘Post Pandemic’ age, can the care homes sector begin to restart, rebuild and refocus.

But ‘Beyond Covid’: what exactly is the future strategy and skills pathway for Infection Prevention and Control Excellence – for care home operators, directors, leaders, teams and professionals?

Since 2016, Knowlex has helped address the need for ongoing improvement, innovation, education and compliance in Hospital Infection Prevention and Control, by bringing together, in person, more than 3,000 NHS IPC Directors, leaders, and professionals as delegates at seven ‘editions’ of the purpose-built NHS Infection Prevention and Control Conference – which is now, in 2022, the biggest event, of its kind, in Europe.

Modelled on this activity, knowledge and experience, Knowlex – in consultation with key professional-stakeholder organisations and individuals – has specially-designed THE CAREHOMES22: BEYOND COVID national conference (and associated exhibition); enabling the UK care homes sector to come together, from across the country; learn the lessons of recent experiences; and better understand how they can ‘future-proof’ their ongoing infection prevention-and-control responsibilities

Tickets are now available at £49.99+VAT, please head over to our website to book your place
