CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Do you have a project or piece of work that you would like to share with your peers? Submitting an abstract at conference is an excellent way to communicate the outcomes of your research project.  Presenting will also support your personal development, showcase your skills and help grow your CV.   





To submit your abstract, please click on the submit button above.  The closing date for abstracts is Tuesday 2 August 2022 (23:59 BST).   

Things you will require for your abstract submission:

  • Title
  • Presentation type - poster or oral presentation
  • Authors and affiliation 
  • Abstract content

Word Limits
Title - maximum 75 words
Abstract - maximum 250 words

Abstract Topics
Abstract submissions are invited for oral and poster presentations for the following topics:

  • SSI, Sepsis, AMR, COVID-19 and other emerging pathogens
  • Healthcare buildings as a source of air and water borne infection 

Oral Presentations
If the abstract is selected as an oral presentation you will be contacted with a date and time of the presentation.   Only one of the named authors may present and they must register as a paying delegate on the day they are presenting (at a minimum).  You will be asked for a copy of your presentation in advance of conference.

Posters
If selected for a poster presentation, please bring your poster with you at the time of registration.  We will not have printing facilities onsite.  

All posters must be portrait and A0 in size (1189mm x 841mm) - landscape posters will not be displayed. Posters are a representation of your submitted abstract. You may not amend the title after acceptance.

As a reminder the terms & conditions of submission are:

  • If accepted the presenting author must register to attend the conference.
  • Last date for submission is Tuesday 2 August 2022 (23:59 BST). 
  • Authors and presenters are expected to adhere to best practice in presenting their work, ensuring that presentations are free from commercial bias and based on evidence accepted by our peers.
  • All authors of abstracts are expected to declare, at the time of submission, any potential conflict of interest relevant to the presentation being given.
  • Amendments cannot be made after submission.
  • Ideally the submitter should be the presenting author. If this is not possible the replacement presenter must be a named author on the original submission.
  • The presenting author (as indicated on the submission) will be notified of the decision of the reviewers on or around Tuesday 30 August 2022.
  • The decision of the panel is final.
  • The submitter is responsible for obtaining consent to publish the names of authors/co-authors.

Please remember: If accepted for either a poster or oral presentation, the presenting author must register to attend conference.  Amendments cannot be made to the content of your abstract after submission.
