Call for abstracts


Do you have a project or piece of work that you would like to share with your peers?  Submitting an abstract at conference is an excellent way to communicate the outcomes of your research project.  Presenting will also support your personal development, showcase your skills and help grow your CV.

Abstract closing date: Friday 28 February at mid day
Notification of outcomes: On or around Friday 21 March 2025

Things to include in your abstract submission:

  • Title
  • Authors and affiliation 
  • Abstract content

Word Limits
Title - maximum 75 words
Abstract - maximum 400 words

Abstract Topics
Abstract submissions are invited for oral presentations and poster display for the following topics:

  •       Microbiology
  •       Mycology
  •       Virology
  •       Clinical case
  •       Infectious Disease
  •       Infection Prevention
  •       Tropical Medicine
  •       Mycobacteriology
  •       Education and training


Oral Presentations
If you are selected for an oral presentation, you will be allocated a slot in one of the following sessions:

Clinical grand round - Tuesday 20 May 2025 (clinical cases only)
Free scientific papers - Wednesday 21 May 2025

Posters
If selected for a poster presentation you will be required to display a poster, A0 size in portrait orientation.  Posters will be on display in the exhibition hall for the duration of the conference. You will also be asked to provide an electronic PDF version of your poster for display on the online platform.

As a reminder, the terms & conditions of submission are: 

  • If accepted the presenting author must register to attend the conference.
  • Last date for submission is Friday 28 February 2025 at mid day.
  • Authors and presenters are expected to adhere to best practice in presenting their work, ensuring that presentations are free from commercial bias and based on evidence accepted by our peers.
  • All authors of abstracts are expected to declare, at the time of submission, any potential conflict of interest relevant to the presentation being given.
  • Ideally the submitter should be the presenting author. If this is not possible the replacement presenter must be a named author on the original submission.
  • The submitter is responsible for obtaining consent to publish the names of authors/co-authors.
  • The presenting author (as indicated on the submission) will be notified of the decision of the reviewers on or around 21 March 2025.
  • The decision of the panel is final.

Please remember: If accepted for an oral presentation or poster display, the presenting author must register to attend conference and is expected to attend in-person.
