We are delighted to announce the Welsh Branch Infection Prevention Society (IPS) and the Association of Healthcare Cleaning Professionals (AHCP) is holding a one-day joint conference in Cardiff on the 25th of June 2024 in the All Nation Centre

This year brings a new format of collaboration between the two societies and demonstrates how working together can reduce the risk of infection to our staff and patients/clients within healthcare. The prevention of infection is everybody’s business and this in person one-day event supports the ongoing education requirement of our staff.

The branch officers when reviewing the agenda for this day took an opportunity to provide an update on microbiology and the new National Standards for Cleanliness (NHS Wales) and review key themes that apply to us all within our premises i.e. decontamination, correct disposal of waste, water safety.

We anticipate a strong delegate profile following last years feedback from a mixture of disciplines from both societies working across Primary and Secondary Care.
