This is a new conference focusing on hearing health in adults. Talks will explore topics that lead to an integrated approach to working with individuals with hearing impairment.  We will discuss the epidemiology of hearing impairment and the relationship between hearing impairment and cognition and the role of person centred practice in hearing health care.   The principles and benefits of person-centred working, including working in multidisciplinary settings will be discussed with a particular focus on the needs of older people and those in long term and palliative care.

Hearing impairment affects not only the service user but also their significant others and professionals who work with them. Therefore the content is applicable to a range of professionals within health and social care settings The sessions will provide an opportunity to explore current issues and best practice, drawing on evidence from research.
